Once you have your litter tray then you need to choose a part of the house where your cat can easily get to the tray and it will be out of your way. Kittens are usually easier to toilet train than cats, but all you need for cats toilet training is patience. Cats are defiant creatures and it will usually appear that they are doing the opposite of what you are asking them, but this is only because they get confused by the tone of our voices and what we are asking them. Never should at your cat for making a mess, this will not achieve anything except for giving you a sore throat! Instead use a stern tone and tell your cat ‘no.’ this is a clear and simple instruction which will let your cat know that what he is doing is wrong and can not be tolerated.
Once you have told your cat that this is bad, you should then pick up your kitten or cat and place him in the litter tray. Don’t rub your cat’s nose in its mess because he will not understand what this means and it will only make your pet scared of you.
