Sometimes in life we can all be very forward thinking, now this isn’t a problem however we do tend to forget about what is going on in the present we tend to overlook little signs that a pet will give off because of this. Cats behavior can change in different ways; they adapt their lives to fit their current circumstances. When you are looking at purchasing a cat there are things that need to be considered and weighed up.
If you want a cat to be extremely obedient in regards to being in the home you need to work with the cat’s individual and very special personality. All animals have personality but to notice when the cat’s behavior changes you need to be able to know what they were like before. Most cats are very independent and self sufficient individuals which are notorious for being stubborn and very vein.
Cats are also very sulky animals and one of the worst cat behaviors is that of ignoring you. A cat unless is made to understand does not like change and being restricted in what it wants to do to what it is allowed to do. Take your time and be kind it is hard to make a cat understand that your way is the way it is going to be.
Scratching furniture is always a problem with young cats and kittens it is best to encourage toys and scratching posts to teach them that it is ok to do what they are doing however not on your expensive furniture, which obviously will be more expensive to change then a scratching post or toy mouse. Clawing at furniture or anything is a natural element for cats, they need to keep their claws sharp as in the wild they use this to aide them to climb and get food so calm but firm instruction and guidance is needed.
Don’t be too strict with your cat, one thing at a time you can’t just expect a cat to come into your house and be exactly what you wanted in a pet, a cat will take time to get his or her bearings and for that reason alone make sure you take your time and don’t put to many rules on your cat, too much to quickly will always confuse. You don’t want to subdue their personality and it isn’t just the cat that needs to change old habits. A cat’s behavior can be a copy of its owners.
