Cat Health Care

Cats make lovely pets for people of all ages and are especially great if you are living alone and want some company. Cats are great pets because they are affectionate and loving and they do not need as much care as other animals such as dogs because they don’t need walking and they are pretty much self sufficient. This said, you still need to implement some level of cat health care so that your pet remains in the best possible health and is happy for all of his years and nine lives! If you want some tips on how to give your cat some of the best health care, then read this article for more information.

The number one cat health care tip is to regularly take your pet to the vets for check ups and shots. Cats need to have injections each year in order to protect them against common diseases and you should also get your vet to take a look at the general health of your cat at these appointments. Your vet should check your cat’s ears, throat, glands, stomach and weight to determine whether or not he is in tip top shape. Taking your cat to the vet will help to maintain brilliant cat health care which means a happy cat and a happy owner.

The diet of your cat will help to keep him in good condition, as long as you are feeding him all of the right things. Never give your cat scraps because this can not only make them over weight, but it can also be dangerous to their health. Cats have different stomachs to us humans and they are more sensitive to certain foods. Always feed your cat twice a day with either dry cat food (ensuring there is plenty of water for them to drink) or tinned cat food. You can also feed your cat fresh tuna and other fish on occasion, you should feed them this every day though.

Grooming your cat can also help towards cat health care, especially if you own a particularly long haired cat. Invest in a proper grooming kit and be sure to brush his coat at least once a week to get rid of any matting and dirt. If you have a short haired cat, then you don’t need to worry about grooming as much but you should always make sure that you pet is clean and happy. You can find out more information on cat health care from the internet and from your local vet and pet store.
